The former American Idol contestant shared the heartbreaking news on social media, writing, \u201cI really don\u2019t have words yet.\u201d She informed her fans on Wednesday, starting her Instagram post with, \u201cWe lost my dad last night, and I really don\u2019t have words yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI want to let y\u2019all know that I\u2019m not able to play the three shows I had scheduled for this weekend in Savannah, Virginia Beach, and Charlotte as I am going home to be with my family.\u201d She concluded by thanking her fans for their \u201cprayers and understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n
Following the announcement, many country music stars expressed their sympathy. Jake Owen wrote, \u201cI\u2019m so sorry for your loss, Lauren. Love and strength from my family to you.\u201d MacKenzie Porter commented, \u201cI\u2019m really sorry, sweetheart. We will pray for you and your family.\u201d Martina McBride added, \u201cSending you so much love.\u201d<\/p>\n

The cause of her father\u2019s death has not been disclosed.<\/p>\n
Before learning about her father\u2019s passing, Lauren was on tour with Jason Aldean. In a Father\u2019s Day tribute just a few weeks prior, the \u201cGeorgia Peaches\u201d singer honored her \u201cold man\u201d on Instagram. \u201cHappy Fathers Day to \u2018my old man\u2019 with a heart the size of Texas!!\u201d she wrote. \u201cI love you so much daddy and hope you have the best day fishin\u2019.\u201d She affectionately signed off with, \u201cLove, your turd (pinky).\u201d<\/p>\n
The post included heartwarming pictures of the two of them, including a moment from Lauren\u2019s wedding day where her father is seen in tears after seeing her in her wedding dress for the first time.
