Born in 1941 at Sandringham House in Norfolk during World War II, he was educated at Eton College before embarking on a career with the Scots Guards in 1960 on a short-term commission. In 1963, he transitioned to the banking sector, working with Allen Harvey and Ross Ltd., a firm specializing in discount broking and banking.<\/p>\n
