During her battle, Sao\u00edrse\u2019s family shared a \u201cdevastating\u201d health update in November of last year, revealing that her cancer had spread. After a recurring tumor was found in her left lung earlier in 2023, they described it as a \u201chuge shock\u201d that the cancer had spread to her other lung, marking Sao\u00edrse\u2019s \u201cbiggest battle to date\u201d as she underwent further chemotherapy.<\/p>\n
In April, Roseanna reflected, \u201cLittle did they know that their world was about to fall apart again. To say we\u2019re devastated just doesn\u2019t cover it. It\u2019s not fair that she\u2019s been to war so many times and fought so hard.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ireland\u2019s rugby team captain, Peter O\u2019Mahony, expressed his condolences, stating, \u201cI\u2019m very sorry to read this. She was an inspiration.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sao\u00edrse\u2019s funeral will be held at St. Peter and Paul\u2019s Church, Kiltullagh, on Sunday at 1.45 p.m. Her family also announced that \u201cSao\u00edrse will rest at home on Friday, March 8, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.\u201d<\/p>\n
They added, \u201cFrom the Bullaun Church parking lot (H62 YH66), a bus service will leave. Please follow the stewards\u2019 instructions and only use the bus service to get to the event.\u201d<\/p>\n
